How To Get a Digital Audio Connection from New Apple TV Generation 4 Gen 5




The new Apple TV's generation 4 and 5 both have eliminated the digital audio output connection which in many setups and systems has created issues when not being able to now send a separate audio feed to separately amplify the audio signal.

The fix for getting a new separate digital audio connection is to install an Audio De-Embedder  / Audio Extractor which essentially strips the audio signal from the HDMI output of the Apple TV and allows the de-embedder to send the audio to a separate device or amplifier.

An additional HDMI cable is also needed to go from the Apple TV output to the De-Embedder input which is required for proper connection and installation.

To wire Crestron Cresnet properly you are suggested to use Crestron's standard Cresnet cabling which consists of 4 conductors to operate correctly. How to Reboot a Crestron Processor Remotely

1.  The first step to reboot a Crestron processor remotely is to setup and connect to the remote network with a VPN connection where the Crestron system you are working on resides. Setting up a VPN connection is beyond the scope of this article but this connection can be done utilizing a VPN router and a dynamic DNS service. 2.  Once you have a successful VPN connection you can now open the Crestron toolbox program to initiate your connection to the processor. Within the Toolbox program open the text console and connect to the processor that you would like to reboot. Having an address entry for your processor will help streamline connecting to your processor. This can be done using the address book button located in the lower left of the text console.
